Welcome
The Princeton University Subsurface Hydrology Research Group focuses on flow in permeable earth materials; particularly the modeling of multi-phase flow for natural subsurface systems, from pore to field scale, with applications to carbon mitigation and ecohydrology. Specific research interest include:
- Carbon dioxide (CO2) sequestration in deep geological formations as a means of carbon mitigation.
- Analytical, semi-analytical and numerical modeling of CO2 injection and migration.
- Leakage of CO2 and Brine along wells, faults and fractures.
- Co-management of CO2 injection and Brine withdrawal.
- Upscaling of two phase flow behavior that accounts for small scale heterogeneities and dynamics.
- Unsaturated flow and transport modeling with a focus on plant root influence.
- Ecohydrology of dryland ecosystems with a focus on Subsaharan Africa.
